How do the Koshi Aria and Zaphir Sunray differ in construction?
Both are handcrafted in France with eight precisely tuned steel rods, but they differ in body and framework. The Koshi Aria uses a bamboo veneer tube and represents the Air element - its sound is bright, clear and bell-like. The Zaphir Sunray uses a long-fibre celluloid tube shaped to Golden Ratio proportions, representing Summer - its sound is warm, crystal clear and has a slightly longer, more lingering decay. Koshi chimes are a little more melodically active; Zaphir chimes carry a marginally warmer, more resonant tone.
