The Zaphir Sunray - Summer Season

Yellow is the color of summer, of long golden days, sunflower fields and the warmth that settles deep into your skin. It is a color that radiates energy, optimism and joy. Yellow invites us outward, into the light, into movement and into the full vibrancy of life. It is the color of confidence, creativity and the pure pleasure of being alive in the height of the year.

The Sufi represents the intermediary season of late summer, bridging the vibrant energy of summer and the reflective depth of autumn. Together the Sunray and Sufi create a truly magical soundscape - bright and warm yet rich and layered, like a long golden afternoon slowly turning into dusk. It is one of the most beloved combinations in the entire Zaphir collection.

The Koshi Aria - Air Element

The element of air represents freedom, movement and mental clarity. Its energy is light and expansive, closely connected to breath, communication and higher consciousness. Air brings the qualities of openness, inspiration and new perspectives. It invites us to let go of what no longer serves us and embrace new beginnings with clarity and confidence.

Together with the Koshi Aria's bright, clear tones, the Air element creates a space for mental openness and spiritual expansion. Many traditions associate air with the breath of life - the Koshi Aria brings that sense of lightness and freedom into your home or practice space. Air symbolizes freedom, communication and expansive qualities. The Koshi Aria produces harmonious and ethereal tones that promote clarity of thought, inspiration and the ability to express oneself freely.

The Koshi Aria is a wonderful accompanying instrument for a smudging ritual. The sound of the instrument integrates with the ascending smoke, creating a harmonic connection between sound and scent - perfect for initiating new beginnings and letting go of the old.

In Western astrology, the Air element is assigned to Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. These three air signs are characterized by mental agility, communication talent and visionary thinking. Why is the Koshi Aria ideal for air signs?

The Koshi Aria resonates naturally with the energy of air signs. Its bright tones support the mental clarity and communicative openness that characterizes Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. It is ideal as a personal meditation instrument or as a meaningful gift for people born under an air sign. How do the Koshi Aria and Zaphir Sunray differ in construction?

Both are handcrafted in France with eight precisely tuned steel rods, but they differ in body and framework. The Koshi Aria uses a bamboo veneer tube and represents the Air element - its sound is bright, clear and bell-like. The Zaphir Sunray uses a long-fibre celluloid tube shaped to Golden Ratio proportions, representing Summer - its sound is warm, crystal clear and has a slightly longer, more lingering decay. Koshi chimes are a little more melodically active; Zaphir chimes carry a marginally warmer, more resonant tone.

Which chime is better for meditation?

Both are excellent for meditation and mindfulness. The Koshi Aria, with its airy, expansive character, is ideal for practices focused on mental clarity, breath and new beginnings. The Zaphir Sunray, with its warm, overtone-rich tone, supports energising, uplifting meditation and is particularly suited to solar plexus and sacral chakra work. If you prefer a brighter, lighter sound, choose the Aria. If you are drawn to warmth and radiance, the Sunray is your companion.

How do the Zaphir Sunray and Twilight sound together?

The Zaphir Sunray and Twilight together create a beautifully balanced combination - the bright, radiant energy of Summer meeting the warm, grounded depth of Autumn.
